Children’s Grief Center receives generous grant from insurer

ALBUQUERQUE – The Children’s Grief Center of New Mexico announced March 13 that it received a $15,000 grant from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) through its Healthy Kids, Healthy Families initiative.

Because of our commitment to provide a safe and supportive environment where children, teens and their families can share experiences and feelings while grieving a death, we are now partnering with BCBSNM whose Healthy Kids, Healthy Families vision is to help improve the health of youth and their families in local communities.

I have been thinking very hard about whether I should talk about the NHA situation.  My Dad [Rex T. Kontz] used to say “Richard you need to understand:  in Tribal government and politics the people with power can’t stand the truth, the truth hurts too much”.   He also said: “you can’t expect people to really trust you if you don’t tell the truth”.  So, with those thoughts in mind, I will say the following.

New U.S. House Bill Would Hurt New Mexico’s Health, Job Growth and Economy

ALBUQUERQUE—Bill Jordan, Senior Policy Advisor and Government Relations Officer of New Mexico Voices for Children, issued the following statement regarding the U.S. House of Representative’s American Health Care Act:
