Whether it’s cracking codes, halting hackers or finding forensic evidence, the FBI uses science, technology, engineering and math to keep the American people safe in nearly every investigation, every day.
“Our workforce tracks down hackers and finds kidnapped children,” Special Agent Avatar LeFevre, who leads the FBI’s efforts to recruit cyber talent, said. “It’s hard to imagine another career in the STEM field where you would see those kinds of real-world impacts of your work.”

Man sought for armed robbery of gas station

A male subject attempted an armed robbery at Mustang Gasoline and Convenience Store, 3440 E. Hwy 66 at about 6:30 pm Oct. 28.
The male was described as Native American and wearing a plaid shirt over a black hoodie, blue jeans and white shoes. A Kel-Tec Sub-2000 rifle was recovered at the scene.
The Gallup Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in identifying the individual in the photographs.

Man charged with Albuquerque bank robbery, other federal crimes
ALBUQUERQUE — The FBI charged Andres Otero in a federal criminal complaint with the Oct. 30 robbery of an Albuquerque bank and other federal crimes.
Otero, 61, with addresses in Moriarty and Albuquerque, was charged with bank robbery, interference with interstate commerce by threats or violence, possessing a firearm during a crime of violence, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Otero, who was arrested by the Albuquerque Police Department Nov. 1 on an active arrest warrant out of Texas for violating his parole, is accused of robbing Washington Federal, 300 Eubank Blvd. NE.
