Apparent murder-suicide leaves four adults dead

The FBI and Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety are investigating an apparent murder-suicide in Tsayatoh, N.M., that left four adults dead, including the suspected shooter. 

Preliminary indications are the shooting, which occurred early the morning of Nov. 13, was an act of domestic violence.

An adult woman with gunshot wounds was taken to a local hospital. 

The incident occurred inside a residence.

Body found behind former Silver Stallion Saloon

Gallup Police responded to 2604 E. Hwy. 66 (behind the old Silver Stallion) in reference to a report of a male down and out in the field south of Silver Stallion with no shirt on Nov. 11 at about 7:10 am.
GPD Officer Brandon Salazar arrived on scene and checked for vitals on the person. No vitals were found and Officer Salazar requested medical personnel.
Gallup Fire arrived on scene and confirmed the individual was deceased. The Office of the Medical Investigator and GPD detectives were called to the scene to investigate.

Cibola County man arrested for raping juvenile

CIBOLA COUNTY – The New Mexico State Police Uniform Bureau and Investigations Bureau were called to investigate allegations of criminal sexual penetration of a juvenile against Edwin Mariano, 40, of Grants.

Through an extensive investigation, State Police agents learned the victim resided in the home with Mariano. During the investigation the juvenile disclosed that Mariano gave her alcohol and sexually assaulted her.

On Nov. 1 State Police officers were able to locate and successfully arrest Edwin Mariano without incident in Grants.

A total of 12,195 voted for Democrat Martin Heinrich for U.S. Senate, while 3,008 voted for Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson. Republican candidate Mick Rich received 2,864 votes.
