Ferland Johnson of Thoreau, N. M. died July 2.  He is preceded in death by his Grandmother, Elsie S. Johnson. He is survived by his sons: Kaleb Johnson, Ulijah Johnson; his daughters: Fanithya, Zydenya and Delayza Johnson; his mother: Laverne Barbone; his stepfather: Johnny Barbone; his brother Quindell Barbone; and his sisters: KeShawna Barbone, KayShannon Barbone, and KaShayla Barbone.

The family will receive friends at Baca Chapter House. Funeral services will be held at the Thoreau Church of God, with interment at Thoreau Cemetery.

Archie R. Silago, 68 of Gallup died July 3. He was preceded in death by Jake Silago, Sr., Rosie G. Ashley, and Gracie Martinez.  He is survived by Jerry Silago, Jake Silago, Jr., Steve Silago, Etta Billie, Cynthia Velarde, and Joleen Woody.

Funeral services were held July 9 with interment at Sunset Memorial Park.

Elliott Storm Parks, Jr. of Thoreau, N. M., died July 2.  He is preceded in death by Alex Galvan, Sr. (grandpa). He is survived by Joanna Morgan (mother); Elliott Storm Parks, Sr. (father); Adrianna Leyba (girlfriend); Ariel Parks (daughter); Isaiah Parks (son), Anastasia Parks (sister); Ida Galvan (grandmother); Reda Galvan (aunt); Mark Galvan (uncle); Alex Galvan, Jr. (uncle); Katelyn Galvan (cousin); Mariah Galvan (cousin); Markala Jose (cousin); Little River Saunders aka LJ (friend).

Funeral services will be held at Rollie Mortuary July 12 at 10 am.

Leonard “Len” Esparza, 60 years old, went to go be with our Lord and Savior Friday, June 21, 2019. Len was a strong Christian man who was a testament to his family, friends, and everyone he met throughout his life. He was a talented artist and enjoyed cars of every type, but Hot Wheels held a special place in his heart. He worked for the Gallup McKinley County School System for over 30 years and enjoyed teaching and encouraging students to see education as a gift, rather than a chore.
