The Gallup Police is asking for the public's help in locating Edwina Mego, 43.

Edwina is five feet and six inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. She has brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, a black shirt, black and grey pajama pants, and black shoes.She has a half dragon tattoo with barbed wire on her left shoulder.

She was last seen Dec. 8, around 10 pm at the Maverick gas station located at 505 U.S. Hwy. 491. Her direction of travel is unknown.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Edwina Mego is asked to contact the Gallup Police Department at (505) 722-2231 or dial 911.

A Gallup man, Austin Evans, 25, sustained minor injuries in a vehicle crash that resulted in his third DWI charge.

Gallup Officer Elijah Bowman was dispatched to 1414 S. Grandview Dr. after a caller reported to Metro Dispatch they saw a gray truck collide with another vehicle at the scene. Bowman arrived and found a Ford Escape in the roadway facing south with heavy front-end damage.

Bowman met Officer Julio Yazzie, who advised the vehicle’s driver, Evans, was reportedly refusing treatment from Medstar staff. Bowman heard Evans speaking at the scene, where he reportedly showed signs of intoxication including slurred speech and bloodshot...

A vehicle collision after allegedly speeding led to a Navajo, N.M., man, Daren Charlie, 29, being arrested and charged with his third DWI.

McKinley County Sheriff’s Deputy Ivan Peshlakai was dispatched to mile marker 5 of U.S. Highway 491 after being advised of a vehicle collision with injury. Peshlakai arrived at the scene and found the driver of the second vehicle pinned inside. He met the driver of a gray Nissan 4-door, Charlie, who was reportedly unconscious when Peshlakai arrived.

Shiprock man pleads guilty to assault, federal firearms offense

A man from Shiprock, New Mexico pled guilty to multiple charges in November, including a federal firearms offense, after he shot into a car, injuring a woman. He also shot at the officers who responded to a call about the incident.

According to court records, on Oct. 11, 2022, 24-year-old Deon Joe Bidtah approached a vehicle near his residence in Shiprock and fired two rounds from a 12-gauge shotgun into it, hitting the woman who was driving the car and injuring her. The woman was taken to San Juan Regional Medical Center for treatment.
