Man caught taking packages off porches

A man who was identified as Robert Gorman was caught stealing packages off of porches six days before Christmas.

On Dec. 19, around 11:45 am, Gallup Police Sgt. Matthew Graham was called out to the Mossman neighborhood after multiple people reported that packages had been stolen from their front doors.

The victims said that they’d seen a man driving a white Chevy Hatchback around the neighborhood and stealing packages. One victim’s front door camera caught a man with a shaved head wearing a blue hoodie with the words “RAMPART” in white and orange on the front.

UPDATE: As of 5:45 pm on Jan. 10, Antonius Elijah Antonio has been found and is safe


The Gallup Police is asking for the public's help in locating Antonius Elijah Antonio, 33.

Antonius is five feet and six inches tall, and weighs about 116 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair.

He was last seen on Dec. 29, and was last heard from on Jan. 7. He told his family he was in Gallup.

Antonius was last seen wearing black pants, a black jacket, and a black cap with a Pirates logo on it. He has tattoos on both arms; one arm has stars on it and the other has his middle name "Elijah" tattooed on it.

A crash near the Fort Wingate High School campus resulted in the driver, Phillip Brown Jr., 45, being arrested and charged with his third DWI.

Metro Dispatch advised officers of a crash near 500 Shush Dr. in Fort Wingate. McKinley County Sheriff’s Deputy Dominic Molina arrived at the scene and found a black Chevrolet Impala parked near the football field after driving through one fence on the southeast corner of the campus and striking another fence.

Molina and Deputy Elliot Peterson walked to the vehicle and met the driver, Brown, who reportedly stated he was on his way home when he crashed...

Shiprock man sentenced to prison for attack on infant

ALBUQUERQUE — Myron Benally, 39, of Shiprock was sentenced to 27 months in prison Jan. 3 for injuring a 13-month-old infant that was in his care.

According to an FBI Albuquerque news release, Benally, a registered member of the Navajo Nation, pled guilty in federal court to assault resulting in serious bodily injury Aug. 18.

On June 27, 2019, Benally assaulted the infant, causing serious bodily injury including a broken arm, court documents state.

Upon his release from prison, Benally will be subject to 3 years of supervised release.
