ALBUQUERQUE – Getting behind the wheel of an ATV while he was intoxicated led to one man accidentally killing his grandson.

Harrison Davis, 60, of Mariano Lake, and an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, was sentenced in federal court on April 26 to five years in prison for involuntary manslaughter in Indian Country. Davis pleaded guilty on May 10.

According to the plea agreement and other court records, on July 1, 2018, Davis was riding an ATV with his five-year-old grandson in McKinley County on the Navajo Nation. Davis was intoxicated at the time, causing him to crash.

The FBI and Albuquerque Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the “Ninja Bank Robber,” an individual responsible for a bank robbery on April 26.

At approximately 3:30 pm, an unknown male entered Bank of the West, 5401 Central Ave. NE, Albuquerque. The suspect presented a note to the teller demanding money from the bank. The robber received an undisclosed sum of money and left.

The suspect is believed to be a black man between the ages of 30 and 35. He is believed to be 5’8 and about 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black bandana, a black T-shirt, black pants, and a black scarf that covered his face.

The name of a New Mexico State Police Officer has now been released after a shooting that happened on April 16.

On April 16, NMSP Investigations Bureau was called to investigate an officer-involved shooting on Interstate 40, milepost 64, near Prewitt, N.M.

Officers learned that around 11:56 am, NMSP Officer Corey Newman was dispatched to the area for a welfare check on a male slumped over the steering wheel of a brown BMW passenger car. The officer arrived and made contact with the male, who was later identified as Oliver Ashley Toledo Saldivar, 26, of N.C.,  Unbeknownst to the officer, Saldivar was the suspect in a homicide that occurred in Durham, North Carolina, just days...

A fed-up nurse at Gallup Indian Medical Center called the police after another patient physically assaulted her.

On April 1, around 9:19 pm, Gallup Police Officer Patrick Largo was dispatched to the Gallup Indian Medical Center, 516 E. Nizhoni Blvd., in response to a complaint that a patient had lashed out at a nurse.

When Largo got there he met with the nurse who explained that the alleged perpetrator, later identified as Valencia Arnett, 52, from Ganado, Ariz.,  had been brought in because she was intoxicated.
