The Gallup Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating Raymond A. McClanahan.

McClanahan is a Caucasian man. He is 27 years old, is about five feet and 11 inches tall, and weighs about 145 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair.

The Gallup Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating John M. Luna, a Hispanic male who is 45 years old.

Luna is six feet and one inch tall, and weighs about 265 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair.

He was last seen around 4:30 am on Dec. 1 after leaving for work in Albuquerque.

Luna is believed to be driving a white 2016 KIA Rios displaying a New Mexico license plate of HGJD04. Luna was last seen wearing a black long sleeve T-shirt, tan pants, and wearing brown boots. His whereabouts are not known. John M. Luna is missing and is believed to be in danger if not located.

Reckless driving led to a Mentmore man, Carl Joe Tso, 43, being arrested and charged with his third DWI.

A witness advised Metro Dispatch they had seen a gold GMC Yukon that ran the flashing red lights near the intersection of South Second Street and West Coal Avenue and had parked before the railroad tracks.

Gallup Officer Vincent Thompson traveled to the scene, where he found the vehicle south of the tracks and conducted a traffic stop. Thompson approached the passenger side window and saw the driver, Tso, slumped over in the driver’s seat. He tried to wake Tso up, at which point the vehicle...

Revised event permit limits will include health, safety criteria

Events held in city parks next year will have to meet a few new standards the city plans to impose to limit crowds, noise and intrusion into surrounding neighborhoods.

In the past, permits have only addressed food preparation and things that directly affect city property, such as street closures for block parties, or security when alcohol will be served.

“We treat all of the venues where special events may occur the same. There is really nothing in [the existing ordinance] that explicitly allows tailoring of the permit to the reality of a specific venue,” City Attorney Curtis Hayes said.

NMSP investigating homicide on UNM campus

ALBUQUERQUE – The New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau was recently requested to investigate a homicide on the main campus of the University of New Mexico.

State Police investigators learned that at around 3 am on Nov. 19  there was an altercation between a 19-year-old male and a 21-year-old male.  During the altercation, both individuals sustained gunshot wounds.  The 19-year-old was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator and the 21-year-old male was transported to an area hospital for treatment.  His current condition is not known.

The 19-year-old will not be identified until the next of kin has been properly notified.
