A Gallup man, already facing murder charges, is now under investigation for sexually exploiting children.

The new investigation against Nicholas Esquibel, 20, occurred after Gallup detectives got a search warrant to look at his Snapchat records. Among the photos uncovered on his account were several of females who were partially unclothed.

Detectives were able to trace some of these photos to a 16-year-old Gallup girl who said Esquibel asked her to allow him to take nude photos of her as well as engage in sexual activities,  even though he knew she was only 16 years old. Police said they also found videos of the girl among his Snapchat records.

Navajo Police: Missing Utah child found deceased

ANETH, UT –  The Navajo Division of Public Safety believes the body of missing 4-year-old Anndine Jones has been recovered from the McElmo Creek April 3, according to a news release.

Jones has been missing since March 14. Extensive search efforts were made by community members and public safety entities from the Navajo Nation, area counties and municipalities. Volunteer searchers discovered Jones in the Creek north of the Aneth community April 3.

Jones was tentatively identified by her parents. Positive identification is pending from the Office of the Medical Examiner.

Two vehicle crash on I-40 in McKinley County

MCKINLEY COUNTY — On March 31 at 2:33 pm, the New Mexico State Police investigated a two-vehicle fatal crash on Interstate 40 eastbound near milepost 3, west of Gallup.

The initial investigation indicated a 2018 Dodge Chrysler, driven by Sherl Anne Stanley, 60, of Duvall, WA was traveling east on Interstate 40. The Chrysler approached traffic which was stopped due to construction. For reasons still under investigation, the Chrysler struck the rear end of a parked tractor-trailer in the construction zone and rolled.

The passenger in the Chrysler, Crystal Helms, 42, of Duvall, WA was ejected and sustained fatal injuries. She was pronounced deceased on scene by the Office of the Medical...

Suspects arrested in Allsup's east 'shots fired' incident

On March 27, just minutes before midnight, Gallup Police officers were dispatched to the Allsup's Convenience Store, 2701 East Aztec Ave., in reference to shots fired. Witnesses reported hearing several shots and vehicles leaving the area at a high rate of speed.

Officers arrived on scene and began preserving evidence and interviewing witnesses. The Gallup Police Investigative Division were called out and worked throughout the night and day, GPD Capt. Marinda Spencer said, in a news release. Detectives and agents were able to identify and locate the suspects and vehicles involved in the incident.
