Breaking in twice, isn’t nice

A Gallup man was charged with two breaking and entering charges within two weeks of each other.

Bartholomew Whitegoat, 24, from Gallup, first broke into a room at the Colonial Motel, 1007 W. Coal Ave., on Feb. 18.

Gallup Police Officer Richard Rangel III was dispatched to the motel at 1:26 am, and he met with the motel owner. She told the officer that some people had broken into Room 159 of her motel, and that no one had been renting that unit.

When Rangel and Officer Aaron Marquez entered the motel room, they found two men and a woman inside, including Whitegoat. The suspects all cooperated and Rangel placed Whitegoat into his unit.

Meth found in arrested woman’s bra

What started out as a wellness check eventually turned into a drug charge for one Gallup woman when meth was found in her bra.

Gallup Police Officers Luke Martin, Cindy Romancito, and Julio Yazzie responded to a wellness check at the Ranchito Motel, 1009 West Coal Ave., around 4:47 pm on Feb. 22.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they met a woman who said she was concerned for her sister-in-law. She said her sister-in-law was threatening to commit suicide. She also mentioned that the woman may have a warrant out for her arrest.

Pinedale man arraigned on charge of aggravated sexual assault

ALBUQUERQUE – Sheldon Livingston, 22, of Pinedale, N.M., and an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, was arraigned in federal court on a charge of aggravated sexual abuse on March 7.

A federal grand jury indicted Livingston on Feb. 24. According to the indictment and other court records, during December 2020, Livingston allegedly engaged in a sexual act with a child who was under the age of 12. The assault allegedly took place in McKinley County on the Navajo Nation.

If convicted, Livingston faces a minimum of 30 years and up to life in prison, according to a news release.

Numerous open containers in a vehicle and an inconsistent story led to Kenneth Price, 34, of Window Rock, being arrested for his third DWI.

Gallup Officer Aaron Marquez was patrolling the north side district near Mesa View Plaza when he saw a white Chevrolet TBZ parked in the plaza lot with its engine running. Several nearby vehicles were covered with snow that had been falling the night prior while the TBZ was not, leading Marquez to determine it had just arrived at the location.
