Sundance man pleads guilty to sex abuse charge
ALBUQUERQUE – Mark Silva, 48, of Sundance, N.M., pled guilty Oct. 12, in federal court in Albuquerque to a sexual abuse charge. Under the terms of his plea agreement, Silva will be sentenced to 60 months of imprisonment followed by a term of supervised release to be determined by the court. Silva will also be required to register as a sex offender.
Silva was arrested on April 4, on an indictment charging him with sexual abuse on May 1, 2016, on the Navajo Indian Reservation in McKinley County.

Shiprock man sentenced to prison for assaulting a federal tribal officer
ALBUQUERQUE – Abner Joe, 55, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation who resides in Shiprock, N.M., was sentenced Oct. 12, in federal court in Albuquerque to 33 months in prison for assaulting a federal officer. Joe will be on supervised release for three years after completing his prison sentence.
