On June 15, Gallup Police Ofc. Thomas House was in the parking lot of the Rio West Mall for a special event, when he was approached by a man who said a silver Jeep with N. M. plates hit his vehicle in the parking lot of the Cultural Center by the skate park and followed it to the parking lot of the mall.  The man pointed to the jeep.

House drove over and engaged his emergency lights behind the Jeep.  But the vehicle did not stop.  It continued traveling slowly in the parking lot.

After Ofc. Justin Foster pulled in front of the jeep, the driver stopped. The driver handed his keys to Foster. House said he smelled alcohol coming...

PINON, Ariz. -  The Navajo Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Jamie Yazzie from Pinon, Ariz. Yazzie’s last known contact was June 30 when she communicated with a co-worker. She has not been seen or heard from since.

Yazzie is a Native American woman from the Navajo tribe. She was last seen leaving her employment at the Pinon Clinic in Pinon, Ariz. She is about 5’5’’ tall with brown eyes and black hair.  She weighs between 230-240 lbs and is 32 years old.

Navajo Police Department received a call on July 5 when a co-worker reported that Yazzie’s vehicle was found less than a mile east of the Pinon Clinic.  An active search is currently being...

The FBI and Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety are investigating a body that was found in the trunk of a burning car near Church Rock, N.M.

The body, which was badly burned, was taken to the state Office of the Medical Investigator for determination of cause of death and identification.

The vehicle, believed to be a Dodge Avenger SXT, was discovered on fire off Pipeline Road, in an isolated area north of Church Rock July 15.

Anybody with information about this incident, or who recalls seeing anything suspicious in the area on July 15 between the hours of 6 and 7 am, is asked to call the FBI at (505) 889-1300 or online at tips.fbi.gov.

BOOKED: DRUNK WOMAN DRIVER, GUN-WAVING MAN 

A Church Rock, N.M. man and woman remain in custody after a wild, gun-waving ride on Gallup's north side late Saturday afternoon.

Calls began pouring into Metro Dispatch at about 4:30 pm, about someone waving a gun out of the window of a red sedan traveling south on U.S. Highway 491.

Thanks to those tips from concerned callers, Gallup Police Department officers pulled the suspected vehicle over at Fourth Street and Coal Avenue.

According to a media release issued by GPD Capt. Erin Toadlena-Pablo, there were were three occupants inside of the vehicle at the time of the stop.
