A woman who said she had hurt her knee trying to break up a fight was pulled over near First Street and Maloney Avenue.

Gallup Patrolman Julio Yazzie met with Roseanna Tom, 46, of Church Rock, N.M. after being dispatched to Sun Valley Apartments, 201 JM Montoya Blvd.

He reported that he saw a gray vehicle traveling south on Woodrow Drive matching the description of a vehicle that also parked in the middle of the street.

When he met with the driver, Tom admitted to having two mixed drinks about an hour before. Yazzie said he smelled alcohol coming from inside her vehicle.

A 21-year-old man is a person of interest in a May 5 homicide.

The Gallup Police Department is looking for Tyrell Teller. He is five-feet-eight inches tall, weighs 140 pounds and has tattoos on his left forearm.

The Police Department advises that he may be armed and dangerous, so it is best not to approach him.

Seventh DWI; Released on own recognizance



Gallup, May 8

A state police officer pulled over a man from Tempe, Ariz. after she saw him racing with another car down a Gallup highway.

On May 8 around 1:51 am New Mexico State Police Officer Rachel Hall saw a black Ford Mustang with Arizona plates racing a white car on State Road 118 in Gallup going eastbound near Mile-Marker 22.

According to the court report, the Mustang was going 78 mph in a 25 mph zone.

When Hall pulled the car over she met the driver Jason Allen McCabe, 42, of Tempe, Ariz. She could smell alcohol and noticed he had bloodshot watery eyes and slurred speech. When she asked him to get out...

A man asleep at the wheel of a silver Dodge Charger awoke to find himself near the 15-mile marker of Highway 118 with McKinley County Sheriff’s Deputy Paul Davis Jr. at his side.

Davis was dispatched to the area around 2:38 am on Oct. 10, 2020. He found the car in the middle of the road with its engine on, lights off and the man who was later identified as Reynaldo Bowman, 37, no address listed, passed out at the wheel.

Davis tried waking Bowman and saw several open alcoholic drinks in the center console.  The vehicle moved forward shortly before it stopped and the driver stepped out. Davis said Bowman swayed and fell...
