Gallup Police pulled over a gray Dodge Neon that was seen swerving on the road, which led to Nolan Healing, 51, of Gallup, adding to a sizable list of DWI charges.

Officer Aaron Marquez was informed by Metro Dispatch that the Dodge Neon was seen traveling south from the north side of Gallup. Marquez was driving on Third Street towards Maloney Avenue when he saw a vehicle matching the description heading south on Third Street.

After confirming a matching license plate, Marquez pulled the vehicle over near Washington Federal Bank at 221 W. Aztec Ave.

Zuni man faces charges of aggravated sexual abuse of a child

ALBUQUERQUE – A Zuni man allegedly sexually assaulted an underage girl for four years.

Phillip Lahi Sr., 70, an enrolled member of the Zun Pueblo, allegedly engaged in and attempted to engage in sexual conduct with the victim since she was five or six-years-old. According to the criminal complaint, Lahi’s alleged conduct included exposing himself to the child, who is an enrolled member of the Zuni Pueblo, and performing sexual acts in front of her.

In October of 2021, when the victim  was nine-years-old, Lahi allegedly forcibly engaged in sex with her. Lahi allegedly committed the offenses on the Pueblo of Zuni.

Standing Rock man arraigned on charges of aggravated sexual abuse

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Brandon Yazzie, 28, of Standing Rock, N.M., and an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, was arraigned in federal court on April 28 on a four-count indictment charging him with three counts of aggravated sexual abuse and one count of abusive sexual contact.

Yazzie will remain on conditions of release pending trial, which has not been scheduled.

A federal grand jury indicted Yazzie on April 12.

According to the indictment and other court records, on at least two occasions between Dec. 1, 2020, and Jan. 31, 2021, Yazzie allegedly sexually abused the victim, identified in court records as Jane Doe, who was less than 12 years old.

MEAN DRUNK

Gallup, April 11

A Gallup man threatened to harm a relative  and two of her young friends after he’d been drinking.

On April 11, at 11:30 pm, Gallup Police Officers Ryan Boucher, Arron Marquez, and Matthew Standey were dispatched to 609 W. Mesa because a scared child had called Metro Dispatch.

When the officers got to the scene, they met with three young girls who were all crying. Marquez ushered them into his patrol car.

While Marquez was comforting the young girls, Boucher saw a man come from the side of the house. This man was later identified as Robin Deweese, 33, from Gallup.
