Man charged with assault for alleged stabbing

A  man was recently charged with assault in Indian Country.

According to the police report, Larry Gene Charley allegedly arrived at the victim's house on Roadrunner Road in Sundance on Oct. 21 in the early morning. Charley, 60,  allegedly knocked at the door and entered, then walked to a bedroom where he found the victim lying in bed. Charley allegedly stabbed the victim in the chest before two other residents in the home heard the scuffle and forced Charley from the house.

During the struggle, the victim grabbed the knife, which caused cuts to his hands. The victim also suffered a collapsed lung as a result of the stabbing. The victim was transported to Gallup Indian Medical Center...

Previously convicted felon sentenced to 11 years in prison for shooting a federal agent

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A man named Derick Martin Garcia Pachecho, 33, of Albuquerque, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for allegedly shooting a federal officer.

On December 11, 2020, FBI agents and task force officers arrived at Garcia Pacheco’s residence to perform a search pursuant to a federal warrant. Agents in tactical gear with clear law enforcement markings knocked at the door and announced themselves as federal officers. Garcia Pacheco reportedly armed himself with a .357 revolver and fired through the door, striking one of the agents in the arm. The agent was seriously injured, requiring surgery and hospitalization.

ALBUQUERQUE – A Zuni man was recently charged with murder in Indian County.

According to a criminal complaint, Brian Wallace, an enrolled member of the Zuni Pueblo,  allegedly killed a victim, identified as John Doe, and buried him at a residence on the Zuni Pueblo on an unknown date. The victim was an enrolled member of the Zuni Pueblo.

Alexander M.M. Former Arizona insurance agent sentenced to more than 11 years for reported elder fraud

TUCSON, Ariz. – An insurance agent from Tucson, Ariz. was sented to 136 months in prison after she tricked an 80-year-old client out of over $1 million.

In October 2018, Koreasa Maria Williams, 47, a licensed insurance agent, realized she was under investigation for an earlier annuity theft scheme,  and then advised the 80-year-old victim to cash out eight life insurance policies and obtain approximately $1 million, under the false promise that the life insurance funds would be better invested in annuities.
