SHIPROCK, N.M. - The Navajo Police Department and the Central Consolidated School District have signed a memorandum of agreement to assign two full-time school resource officers to the northern New Mexico public school system.

The signing ceremony was held Aug. 26 with Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez and Vice-President Myron Lizer finalizing the school resource agreement, a historic partnership for both the Navajo Nation and Central Consolidated School District.

BLACK MESA, Ariz. - The Navajo Nation Environmental Protection Agency announced Aug. 23 that its Criminal Enforcement Department is working to address a case of illegal trash dumping in the community of Black Mesa, Ariz., which is in violation of the Navajo Nation Solid Waste Act, and will seek prosecution of the perpetrators.
