The New Mexico State Police Crime Suppression Bureau continues to combat major crime issues around the state. The Bureau has specialized units that focus on recovering stolen vehicles, apprehending wanted fugitives, and arresting those involved in drug trafficking organizations. In addition, multiple agents within CSB are part of multi-agency task forces with federal and local partners.

From Jan. 1 to the end of March, members of the New Mexico State Police Crime Suppression Bureau have been making arrests and seizures throughout the state. During that time, their activity includes the following seizures and arrests:

  • 206 felony arrests
  • two misdemeanor arrests
  • 77 pounds of cocaine seized
  • 21 pounds of meth seized
  • 91 pounds of fentanyl seized
  • 11 pounds of heroin seized
  • 117 pounds of marijuana seized
  • 38 grams of crack cocaine seized
  • 32 firearms seized, six of which were stolen
  • 56 stolen vehicles recovered
“Our commitment to the citizens of New Mexico is unwavering as we continue to take dangerous wanted felons off our streets, recover stolen property, and disrupt the flow of drugs before they find their way into our children's hands,” Troy Weisler, Chief of the New Mexico State Police, said.  “My department's resolve to protect our citizens is stronger than ever and we will continue our efforts in all communities of this great state.”
The New Mexico State Police will continue conducting proactive operations across the state in 2024.
