City of Gallup officials announced the reopening of the Fox Run Golf Course in a March 28 press release.

The golf course will reopen on April 2.  The reopening of nine holes for play was made possible by combined efforts of Golf Course and Water  Department staff.

The course and Pro Shop will be open from 9 am to 5:30 pm Tuesday through Sunday. The course, located  at 1109 Susan Avenue, will be closed on Mondays to allow for maintenance and upkeep. The last bucket of balls will be sold at 5:30 pm, and carts need to be returned by 6:30 pm.

“We appreciate the community’s support and patience while we worked to reopen the course,” Matthew Alcala, course director, said. “This is exciting progress, and we hope the community enjoys playing the  course.”

The back nine holes are reopening for play while work continues on the front nine. Crews have been working  to establish consistent effluent water for irrigation and reseeding the course. Golf Course and Water Department staff have worked closely to keep effluent water flowing and improve course conditions. Staff are hoping to open the front nine in 2025.

The green fee for play is $10, and golf cart rentals are $12. Golfers can enjoy a second round of play on the back nine for $5. Range ball fees range from $5 to $10 depending on the bucket size.
