Blizzard conditions are proving to make for difficult driving conditions in the AM hours of Jan. 4.
NMroads.com is reporting difficult driving conditions on a majority of the state roads surround Gallup and Interstate 40.
A severe driving warning was put in place around 4:15 am for Hwy. 64 from the mile marker 0, which is near the Arizona state line and reaching as far as mile marker 32, which is just nine miles east of Shiprock, New Mexico. The warning was updated at 6:15 am, and still remains at the severe level as of 7 am.
Avoid traveling or use extreme caution if you do go out. Stay safe out there!
