A house that was hit by a fire on May 30, was hit by another fire Oct. 14. The owners of the house at 808 W. Maloney Ave. were already in the process of arranging to have it demolished when the second fire began.
Gallup Acting Fire Marshal Jon Pairett said someone had been taking care of the house since the incident in May. He added that the building was vacant at the time of the October fire.
Pairett found a makeshift stove inside the house. He said it may have been from a transient. The cause of the fire is being labeled as accidental.
