The McKinley County Sheriff's Office and New Mexico State Police worked a joint agency warrant operation on Feb. 15.

The day ended with five misdemeanor and two felony warrant arrests.

The last arrest of the day ended with a barricaded suspect who had a firearm. Samuel Sandoval was wanted for possession of unlawful narcotics with the intent to distribute. He reportedly barricaded himself in a camp trailer and pointed a firearm at law enforcement.

NMSP officers brought in resources from their tactical team, including a mobile robot to take the suspect into custody without incident.
