Pats going for second unbeaten season

This could be the second unbeaten regular season under the tutelage of head football coach Wes Shank at Miyamura High School. That is quite an accomplishment for a town like Gallup, even though they are not consecutive seasons, not known for its prowess on the gridiron.

The difference is the head coach, not the players...

Rehoboth Christian Cross Country ran in Kirtland at the Bronco Ridge Runner Invtie on Friday, Oct. 20. The boys placed 8th of 12 teams with 236 points and the girls were 5th of 10 teams with 14 points. Individual places and times below:

The Oct. 13 game under the lights at Angelo DiPaolo Memorial Stadium went much the way fans on both sides expected, a 54-0 win by the third ranked Miyamura Patriots (now 7-0) over the Gallup Bengals (1-6). Gallup is temporarily without a head coach because of a personnel matter.

“Gallup’s kids were classy and played the best they could,” said opposing coach Wes Shank. “They are just struggling a bit.”
