He was born in Gallup on March 27, 1962.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his father Alfred Salcido Garcia and his three brothers, Benjamin, Alfred Salcido (JR), and Conrad.

Betty Johnson, of Gallup, died Jan. 20.  She was 86.

She was born in Gallup on Oct. 22, 1936.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents John and Pearl Bertinetti, and her sister Patti Doty.

She is survived by her husband Riley “Cookie” Johnson; her sons Riley Jr., wife Ann, Rick, wife Pam, and John, wife Kelly; her eight grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and numerous family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 21320 S. Greenfield Rd. in Gilbert, Ariz., on Feb. 4 at 11 am.

Adrian Jeffery Edsitty of Sheep Springs, N.M., died on Jan. 9. He was 29.

He was born in Gallup on May 31, 1993.

Adrian was preceded in death by his grandparents Doris Carl and Joe Carl Sr., Christine Allen, John Allen, Nelson Etsitty, Kee James, and Helen Y. James.

He is survived by his mother Gloria Carl; his father Jimson Edsitty; his sisters Chelsea Edsitty, Victoria Edsitty, Kimberly Edsitty; and his brothers Jason Edsity and Jimson Edsitty.

Funeral services will be held at Cope Memorial Chapel in Kirtland, N.M., on Jan. 16 at 10 am.

Memorials and flowers can be sent to Cope Memorial Chapel at 458 Co Rd. 6100 in Kirtland.

Ernest Montano, of Hedgesville, W. Va., died on Nov. 18. He was 83.

He was born in Pine Haven, N.M.,  on Oct. 15, 1939.

Ernest was preceded in death by wife Mary Montano of Show Low, Ariz.; his parents Rafael and Rosenda Montano of Gallup;  his brothers: Oliverto Montano, Jorgn Montano, Leo Montano, and Ralph Montano Jr., all of Gallup; his sisters Laura Villanueva of Albuquerque and Gereldine Oguin Montano of Council Bluffs, IA.

WINDOW ROCK, ARIZ. — Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez and Vice President Myron Lizer issued a proclamation on Oct. 20, in honor and remembrance of Sylvia Laughter, a member of the Navajo Nation, who served as an elected member of the Arizona House of Representatives from 1999 to 2005 representing part of the Navajo Nation. Laughter passed away peacefully with family at her side on Oct. 15.
