Plateau Science Society Meeting
The October meeting of the Plateau Sciences Society will take place on Sunday, October 18, at the Red Mesa Center, 105 W. Hill Street, Gallup.The social get-together with refreshments will run from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The business meeting will start promptly at 3:00 p.m., followed by a short break and then the program at 3:45 p.m. The program is open to the public.

ALBUQUERQUE—The state’s current plan to spend up to $1 billion to divert water from the Gila River through a pipeline is ill conceived, particularly since the state has significant problems that would be more effectively addressed with such a significant level of funding.
