At about 5:05 pm, Gallup Police Department Officer Chaz Troncoso and fellow officers were dispatched to 517 S. Clark St. in reference to a male with a knife. A niece at the residence had a bloody mouth and there was blood on the ground.
At the scene, officers were waved down by a female who was yelling that her husband, Benjoe Cayadito, 38, was wielding a knife in a room inside the residence where there were also several children.

AG Balderas announces arrest in attorney general human trafficking operation
ALBUQUERQUE – On Oct. 13, Attorney General Hector Balderas announced that the Office of the Attorney General Human Trafficking Task Force recently conducted an undercover sting operation resulting in the arrest of Tyrone Davis.
“Human trafficking is nothing short of modern-day slavery and it remains a top priority of this administration to continue to protect New Mexico’s most vulnerable populations from this abhorrent depravity,” Balderas said.

MCSO: Corrections officer charged with bringing contraband into jail
A Gamerco man, who worked as a corrections officer at the McKinley County Adult Detention Center, was jailed and later bonded out Sept. 28 after his arrest for bringing contraband into the MCAD, officials said.
Esidro Olguin, 22, was initially jailed on a $5,000 surety bond, according to jail records. Olguin’s charges are two counts of bringing contraband into a place of imprisonment and two counts of trafficking a controlled substance.
Lt. Pat Salazar of the McKinley County Sheriff’s Office said Olguin’s arrest came after the sheriff’s office received a tip, followed by three months of investigation.
