A FORT DEFIANCE, Ariz., man was jailed on assault and DWI charges and later bonded out after serving a couple days behind bars and paying a bond, jail records show.
James Miles III was taken into custody Nov. 16 by officers from the Gallup Police Department when he became unruly with Gallup police detective John Yearly.
According to a police report, Miles attempted to flee the scene after he hit someone with his vehicle. Miles, 26, was being restrained near Third Street and Maloney Avenue by Yearly and three other men when Gallup officer Jeremy Shirley arrived on the scene.

Jones’s alleged erratic driving alerted McKinley County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Eric Jim. He pulled Jones over at Hwy 66 and Dean Street. Jones, 36, showed the classic signs of intoxication – red, watery eyes, the strong odor of booze coming from his person, and slurred speech.
He failed the field sobriety tests and blew a .33 and .32 during the breath tests.

Shiprock man faces murder charges
The FBI has arrested Larry June, 57, of Shiprock, New Mexico, who is charged in a federal criminal complaint with murder and crimes occurring in Indian Country.
June was taken into custody Tuesday. He is expected to have an initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge B. Paul Briones in Farmington on Wednesday.
The charges are in connection with an investigation by the FBI and Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety into the death of a Navajo woman that occurred in Sheep Springs, New Mexico, on Friday.
The federal criminal complaint is expected to be posted in PACER shortly after June’s court appearance.
