A lone suspect remained at large Aug. 18 after a stabbing near Camille’s Sidewalk Café at 306 S. Second St.
Gallup Police Department Captain Marinda Spencer said a call about the incident came into dispatch around 9 am that morning. The caller, who was a bystander, reported a stabbing by an unknown male.
Spencer said the victim, believed to be male, was transported to an area hospital, though she did not specify which one.
“We are still gathering details on the situation,” Spencer said. “The investigation is still open.”

Man shot on Strong Drive in Gallup
Victim claimed ‘nobody’ shot him
Just after 10:15 pm on Aug. 10, Gallup Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of 802 S. Strong Dr. in reference to a shooting. One person was confirmed shot.
In front of 801 S. Strong Dr., GPD Officer Timonthy Hughte found a male lying on his left side in the street. Two other individuals were also at the scene — the caller and an off-duty paramedic.
The victim came to as Hughte checked his stomach for the wound, and “got mad at me,” Hughte wrote in his report. The bullet wound was on the victim’s left leg.
The victim did not immediately identify himself and told the officer not to “worry about it,” when asked who shot...

The New Mexico Department of Transportation announced one of the state’s top 10 DWI fugitives, Rigina Johns, was arrested by the Gallup Police Department. In June, Johns absconded from supervision after being convicted of her fifth DWI. This was the second time Johns ran from the law. Sheriff’s investigators looking to ID possible murder suspect
McKinley County Sheriff Office Investigator Anthony Ashley is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man seen with Sergio Perez-Prieto just days before his body was discovered north of Hassler Valley Road, not far from ATV Motocross road July 9.
Investigators determined that Perez-Prieto was the victim of foul play.
Video surveillance shows Perez-Prieto withdrawing money from a Wells Fargo ATM machine July 4. Ashley said investigators want to talk with the unidentified passenger, seen in the photo donning a thick black leather bracelet, black clothing, and long hair.
“He’s a murder suspect,” MCSO Investigator Merle Bates said.
