Toadlena-Pablo finds a work-life balance in new role

Now that she is officially Gallup’s Chief of Police, Erin Toadlena-Pablo has a whole new set of responsibilities. But she also has the responsibilities of being a mother.

Toadlena-Pablo is a mother to six children: eight-year-old Jayace, 16-year-old Emily, 22-year-old Kymberly, 23-year-old Kiana, 26-year-old Kobe, and 29-year-old Joshua.

Guests see their story in one-woman show

Students and community members were treated to a one-woman musical theater show April 7 at the UNM-Gallup Zollinger Library.

The show, called Amazing Women of the Wild West starring actress/singer Van Ann Moore, portrays different women in that time period. Moore, who has performed internationally, researches, writes, and stars in her own one-woman shows, which are performed for high school students. She prepares her stage set to make her show visually appealing to make her character stand-out. In the April 7 show she used a Spanish-style decor to fit with the story.

Native Broadcast Enterprise hosts gathering

Even the Easter Bunny was surprised by the turnout at the first annual Easter Family Event hosted by Native Broadcast Enterprise, Inc. April 8 at the Navajo Nation Fairgrounds in Window Rock, Ariz.

NBE, located in St. Michaels, Ariz., is home to two well-known radio stations that entertain the Navajo Nation as well as the surrounding area. Those stations are AM 660 and FM 101.5 KTNN, which famously monikers itself as “The Voice of the Navajo Nation” and  “Capital Country” 96.1 and 99.5 KWRK. The radio stations came up with the idea for the event as a way to show their listeners their appreciation as well as welcome Easter.
