Scheduled water outage for Jan. 22

A scheduled water outage that will affect parts of Ciniza Drive will take place on Jan. 22 from 9 am to 3 pm.

The outage will affect City of Gallup Water customers in the following areas:

3000-3100 Block of Ciniza Drive

The city's water department will be making repairs to a broken water line in the area. They will need to temporarily shut down water service while they complete the work. Once the work has been performed, the water service will be restored.

Surrounding areas may experience low water pressure.

Legal judgment adds a wrinkle to RMCH woes

CORRECTION: Rehoboth McKinley County Hospital received a notice of a $68 million legal judgement in a malpractice lawsuit, not $268 million.

A multi-agency plan to help Rehoboth McKinley Christian Hospital get back on its feet faced a challenge briefly in December when RMCH got notice of a $268 million legal judgment in a malpractice lawsuit stemming from a 2018 surgery.

While the number is daunting, Interim CEO Bill Patten and County Manager Anthony Dimas are confident it will ultimately be reduced and the hospital’s $35 million in insurance should cover any payout in the case.
