NEW MEXICO LETTERS ABOUT LITERATURE

The New Mexico State Library is holding this competition for children ages 13 and under to read a book and write a letter to the author about how the work shaped the child’s perspective on the world or him/herself. The entry form, permission form, official rules and terms of participation are available on the Letters about Literature website at read.gov/letters/. All entries must be submitted by Jan. 7.

STRATEGIC PLANNING MEETING FOR MCKINLEY CITIZENS’ RECYCLING COUNCIL

CREATIVE CORNER

4 pm. @ the Main Library (115 W. Hill Ave.). Join the challenge to create one art piece a day using a letter from the alphabet. Create a work of art starting with the letter of the day using any medium. Inspired by Daily Practices workshops from CreativeBug. Color Pencil Daily Practice & Marker Daily Practice. VIRTUAL ARTIST TALK: SHANNON GURLEY O’DONNELL, NALMERTHAN PABLO

Join us for a discussion between two artists whose creative perspectives both begin with painting, then branch off in different directions – one takes a realistic approach in watercolor and the other combines realism and abstraction in acrylic – before ultimately winding up in the same place: moments of true beauty!

FILING DAY FOR WRITE-IN CANDIDATES FOR MUNICIPAL OFFICER ELECTION

BULLET JOURNALS

4 pm in the main library (115 W. Hill) in person for a bullet journal workshop. Bullet Journaling is meant to help you organize your tasks and stay productive, but it’s also great for maintaining mindfulness. It has evolved into a platform for many to express their thoughts and creativity. Keep track of your favorite books, water consumption, binge-worthy tv shows, and more! OPEN ENROLLMENT

Gartner Insurance and BeWellNM are working together during this Open Enrollment season to ensure that everyone who is under 65 and is not covered under their employer’s Health Plan and who WANTS health insurance, gets enrolled in a plan before the Open Enrollment ends on Jan. 15. UNWRAP THE GIFT OF READING

Begin the holiday cheer early by unwrapping the gift of reading! Throughout the month of December, if you selected a wrapped book to check out, unwrap, read, and rate, remember that all cards that are returned by Jan. 14 will be entered in a prize drawing. RMCHCS COVID-19  TEST/VACCINE/BOOSTER CLINIC

8 am-4 pm Mon.-Fri. @ College Clinic (2111 College Dr.). Sixteen years and older. For test – someone will come to your vehicle. Please call (505) 236-1074 and someone will come out to your vehicle to obtain a specimen.

Patient/guardian will be required to remain with patient and wait 15 minutes for observation immediately after receiving the vaccine. Must call College Clinic at (505) 863-1820 to set up an appointment.

8 am-4 pm Mon.-Fri. @ College Clinic (2111 College Dr.). For tests Call (505) 326-1074 and someone will come to your vehicle to obtain a specimen.

 

8:30 am-11 am and 1 pm-4 pm Mon.-Fri.@ College Clinic (2111 College Dr.).  For COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11. A patient guardian will be required to remain with the patient and wait 15 minutes for observation immediately after vaccine is given.
