Louie Anthony Leyba was born on Aug. 24, 1945, in Gallup and entered eternal rest on Jan. 19. He was 78 years old.
Louie was a lifelong resident of Gallup. He loved cooking, doing DIY projects, and spending time with his family. He is loved and will be missed.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Leyba; his children Madeline Leyba (Jeff Bond), Paulette Diaz, and Vanessa Duckett (Richy); his grandchildren Jeffrey Benham, Katia Bond, Isaac Day, Aaron Diaz, Jesse Duckett; his great grandchildren; Jacob Benham, Jonah Benham, Asher Day, Chevelle Duckett; and his sisters Maria Rios and Debbie Soto.
He is preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Lillian Leyba; his brothers Johnny, David, and Anthony; and his sisters Charlotte and Rita.
A Rosary will be recited on Jan. 26 at Sacred Heart Catherdral at 10 am. A Mass will follow at 10:30 am with words spoken by Father Josh Mayer.

An inurement at Sunset Memorial Park will follow the Mass.
