Blu-ray/DVD Roundup for September 10, 2021

It’s time for another look at some of the highlights that are arriving on Blu-ray and DVD. In addition to a high-profile superhero title, you’ll find plenty of quirky little releases that may be of interest. So, if you can’t or shouldn’t be heading out to the movies this week, be sure to give one of these films a try!

AMERICAN PIE PRESENTS: GIRLS’ RULES: While the original, “American Pie” series came to a close in 2012, that hasn’t stopped producers from making direct-to-disc spin-offs. The latest follows a group of four female high school seniors who want to lose their virginity...

A group of local quilters presented ten quilts to local veterans at the Veterans Helping Veterans building Aug. 20.

Some of those in attendance included Mayor Louis Bonaguidi, Dist. 4 City Councilor Fran Palochak, country and western entertainer John Encinio, who is a veteran of the Viet Nam conflict and returned to Gallup from Las Vegas, Nev. to participate in the event.

Others who can be spotted in some of these pictures include: Bill Werner, John Matajcich, Mike Sekiya, Pedro Flores, Lee Peshlakai, Heather Slim, Miguel Garcia, Ned Pablo, Daniel Renault Haven, Shelly Biakaiddy, and Mike Selia.

Marisa Hutchinson had a dream of boys and girls building robots out of Legos. So she wrote a grant, something she does a lot when she imagines new projects for the Boys and Girls Club of Gallup.

“I have to constantly write grants, so we can stay open to help the kids,” she told the Sun.

The Legos from one of those grants arrived while she was at the Rio West Mall, in November, helping children with their homework.

In June, the club held a training for the young participants in the project. The First Lego League Robotic Challenge got under way a month later.

Sixteen youngsters were formed into opposing teams, each with a leader.
