Three people sentenced to prison after child pornograhy found in Carlsbad home

An Albuquerque man named Dominic Allan Marks has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after he reportedly molested multiple children.

According to court documents, on Nov. 9 the FBI obtained a federal search warrant for an address in Carlsbad, N.M., associated with an online account for a fetish website that had been discussing the sexual molestation of a 9-year-old minor and sending child pornography of that minor. After execution of the search warrant, the FBI was able to verify that the adults living at the address, Joseph and Rachel Crutcher, had been sexually abusing three children in their care and had been setting up meetings with other individuals to sexually abuse one of the...

Shooting near Thoreau

A man was shot near Thoreau on Aug. 25.

The shooting reportedly took place around 3 pm on County Road 27 just west of Thoreau. The man was allegedly shot in the thigh with a .22 handgun.

The Navajo Police are currently investigating the situation. More information will be published when it becomes available.

 


Tse Bonito man pleads guilty to sexual abuse of a minor

A Tse Bonito man named Gerald Lee has pled guilty to the sexual abuse of a minor.

According to court documents, Lee, 37, and an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, raped a 15-year-old girl at his mother's house within the exterior boundaries of the Navajo Nation on May 15, 2021.

Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Albuquerque Field Office, announced on Aug. 24 that Lee pled guilty to sexual abuse of a minor. Lee will remain in custody pending sentencing, which has not been scheduled.

Shots fired near Red Rock Park during Ceremonial events

Shots were fired about a quarter mile away from Red Rock Park, 825 Outlaw Rd. in Church Rock during the Gallup InterTribal Ceremonial celebration

Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene during the evening of Aug. 11 after reports came in about shots being fired in the area. The Navajo Police and the McKinley County Sheriff’s deputies detained two suspects at a nearby residence. No injuries were reported.

The Navajo Police later confirmed that the incident involved two individuals who reportedly shot a firearm over a quarter mile west of the park on tribal land.
