'Tan Pants Bandit' strikes again

The FBI and Rio Rancho Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the "Tan/Gray Pants Bandit," who is wanted for multiple bank robberies in the Rio Rancho and surrounding area. He robbed the Washington Federal Bank, 2518 Southern Blvd SE Rio Rancho, at approximately 4:25 pm on May 3.

The suspect has been described as a white man who is approximately five feet and seven inches tall with a stocky build. He was last seen wearing a blue hat, a black face mask, a black long sleeve shirt, grey skinny pants, and glasses.

The suspect entered the bank on May 3  and demanded money from the teller. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect.

These are the other bank robbery’s the Tan/Grey Pants Bandit is wanted for:

  • First Financial Credit Union of Rio Rancho, 2201 Rio Rancho Blvd SE, at approximately 5:15 pm on March 4. 
  • Rio Grande Credit Union of Rio Rancho, located at 1526 Unser Blvd SE, at approximately 4:45 pm on April 1. 
  • Bank of Albuquerque, located at 6600 4th St NW, Los Ranchos De Albuquerque, at approximately 4:55 pm  on May 23. 

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of this suspect.

Information about other bank robbers wanted by the FBI can be found at bankrobbers.fbi.gov. Bank robbery carries a possible prison term of up to 20 years. The use of a gun, other dangerous weapon, toy gun, or hoax bomb device during the commission of a bank robbery can be punishable by a prison term of up to 25 years.
