PHOENIX – After pleading guilty, a man was sentenced to 202 months in prison for second degree murder.
On Nov. 14, Kelly Joyce, 38, of Pinon, Ariz., was sentenced by United States District Judge Dominic W. Lanza to 202 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release. Joyce previously pleaded guilty to second degree murder.
On March 2, 2020, Joyce, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, reportedly shot and killed a victim. The crime occurred in Pinon.
The FBI and the Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety conducted the investigation in this case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jillian Besancon, District of Arizona, Phoenix, handled the prosecution.
