Police Investigation: Local man shot, hospitalized in Albuquerque

The Gallup Police Department responded to a shots fired call July 10 shortly after 11pm, according to Captain Rick White.

“Friday, about 11:16pm, officers were dispatched to First and Lincoln in reference to shots being fired,” White said.

North First and East Lincoln is located a mere two blocks from Maloney Avenue and just a short walk from two highly utilized neighborhood parks as well as a school and a church.

While the incident is still very much under investigation, witnesses were able to identify a vehicle that was in the area at the time the shots were heard.

“A white Blazer was seen leaving the scene,” White said.

Bar room brawl leads to arrest

Andres Pinto, 31, Albuquerque was arrested after an alleged bar fight July 11. According to the police report, filed by GPD Officer Timothy Hughte, Pinto’s brother said that he had picked up his brother and gone to Sports Page.

Pinto asked for the vehicle keys so that he could charge his cell phone and his brother later discovered that Pinto had taken off with his vehicle. He told police that he called his brother told him to bring his “vehicle back to the bar due to his intoxication level.”

Pinto returned to the bar where they began to argue.

Serial burglary suspect caught

After almost two hours of handling burglary calls and searching for a male subject in the Mossman area, Jeremy Henry, 23, OF Gallup was arrested on multiple burglary counts July 14.

According to the statement of probable cause, filed by Gallup Police Department Officer Matthew Ashley, officers responded to a call of a broken window at the New Mexico Gas Company on East Aztec in the early morning hours,.

While searching the area, Officer Victor Rodriguez “saw movement in the bushes, then he saw a male subject.”

Rodriguez ran after the man who had took off running eastbound from the area of Verdi Drive  and Aida Court. Rodriguez lost visual contact with the man.
