Senator claims the bills will benefit N.M. economy

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich, D-N.M., led in advancing two bills he introduced March 30, that will enhance opportunities for outdoor recreation, reauthorize a key conservation program, improve access to public lands, and protect wilderness within the Río Grande del Norte National Monument northwest of Taos.

The Sportsmen’s Act of 2017 cleared the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources today with bipartisan support. Senator Heinrich introduced the bill with Chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska.

Repair is related to 5th and Hill break last year

It’s considered a major utility-oriented job, and it’s going to be a few months before things get back to normal, a city official said about a repair project on the south side.

The scope of the project is to install a new water transmission main from Historic Highway 66 to the Park Avenue Pump Station, Dennis Romero, director of the city’s water and sanitation department, said.

“This will replace the line we’ve been experiencing problems with,” he said.
