Two Gallup Police Officers were injured in the incident that occurred at the Gallup Intertribal Ceremonial parade.

The Officers have been identified as Officer Gilbert Gonzales who has 16 years of law enforcement experience, one of those years with the Gallup Police Department, and Officer Elijah Bowman, who has been with the Gallup Police Department for two years.

These two officers have been treated and released from the local hospital with minor to moderate injuries.

Chief Franklin Boyd praised the officers in their attempt to keep the event safe and free of danger. In a press release published on Aug. 5, the Department said that the officers would get the full support that they need to make a full recovery.
