The new Fairfield Inn & Suites on East Historic Highway 66 had a Grand Opening June 3, helped in the effort by the Chamber of Commerce, Don Diego’s Restaurant, and local politicians who attended.
A crowd of around 100 showed up to take a tour of the hotel offered by Manager Alexandra Griego and owner Deepesh Kholwadwala of Sun Capital Hotels.
The 72-room hotel, complete with an indoor pool and exercise room as well as a comfortable and spacious lobby, actually opened for business a couple of months ago, but invited many local residents to the Grand Opening ceremony so they could see for themselves what they had to offer guests.
The facility has 20 employees and promises to be a lift to the Gallup economy.
Present at this ceremony was state senator George Munoz, and City Councilors Fran Palochak and Allan Landavazo. Also present was County Manager Bill Lee and an assortment of others from the community. The Chamber of Commerce assisted in drawings and raffles for the night, and the cocktail munchies were provided by Don Diego’s.
