DOING DRUGS AT TACO BELL
Gallup, Sept. 4
A man reportedly fell asleep at a local Taco Bell after eating some food and smoking narcotics.
On Sept. 4, around 7:45 pm, Gallup Police Officer Ryan Boucher was called out to the Taco Bell at 914 E. Hwy. 66 after someone reported that people were using drugs in the area.
He parked his car near the next-door business Gas Up at 916 E. Hwy. 66, and noticed a man who was later identified as Peyton Storer sitting in between the two businesses. According to Boucher’s report, Storer, 27, was bent over something and he didn’t move for a long time. Boucher also noticed he had a straw in one hand and a lighter in the other.
Boucher told Storer to drop the items in his hands. Storer did so, and then begun to reach for a red backpack that was behind him. Boucher told him to stop reaching for items.
Storer allegedly put his hands up in the air and said he had a “tudor” and a lighter. He said he was OK, and that he was just trying to eat his food. He had a Taco Bell bag next to him.
Boucher approached him and had him empty out the contents of the two backpacks he had with him. He allegedly had a straw that contained some black and brown residue, a piece of aluminum foil that had a blue pill inside it, and three pipes that all had brown residue inside them.
Storer eventually admitted that he’d been smoking narcotics. He said he found the blue pill, which was identified as fentanyl, on the ground. He said he’d fallen asleep after smoking.
Boucher arrested Storer for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia possession. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 2.
