A New Mexico congressional candidate recently visited Gallup to speak to voters.

On July 15, Alexis Martinez Johnson, environmental engineer, wife, mother, and Republican nominee for New Mexico’s 3rd Congressional District hosted a “Gathering in Gallup Event.”

Martinez Johnson grew up in Roswell, N.M., and was raised by her grandparents. It was through their hard work and sacrifice that Martinez Johnson learned about New Mexican family values, which she has carried with her throughout her life.

Martinez Johnson’s career has been focused on ensuring high environmental standards in the Permian Basin while making sure energy was produced and jobs were kept so that New Mexico can thrive.

She lives with her husband, Christopher, and their four children in Santa Fe.

“I love visiting Gallup,” Martinez Johnson said. “Gallup is one of the jewels of New Mexico’s 3rd District, and I enjoyed sharing our positive message at tonight’s event - one of the many events we’ll be holding across New Mexico’s 3rd District. We spoke about ensuring our veterans receive the healthcare they deserve, providing resources for victims of domestic abuse, and ensuring that our Native American community artisans’ hard work is protected.”
