SHOOTING SUSPECT WANTED

Gallup, 10/22

Russell Luna was shot by Jessie Gutierrez, who was still at large as of press time. Luna was shot at Black Diamond Mobile Home Park, 333 Black Diamond. He was shot in the abdomen and went to the Med Star Ambulance location on Maloney for help. Luna was transported to a local hospital. According the police report, there were up to three shots fired. Police area asking for the public’s help in locating Gutierrez. Call Crimestoppers at (505) 722-6161.

 

WHAT A MESS!

Pinehaven, 10/22

Thomas A. Garcia got pretty close to hitting his father and was arguing with his mother, but it appears from McKinley County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Jonathan Todachine’s report, he didn’t get his way. Both mom and dad did everything possible to stop Garcia, 29, from getting behind the wheel. They took his car keys, glasses and even the phone away from the intoxicated Garcia. He retaliated by damaging his parent’s property, pulling off his mother’s glasses, and kicking the door. He was arrested for assault, interference with communications, and criminal damage to property.

DRINK AWAY FROM THE KIDS

Gallup, 10/22

According Gallup Police Department Officer Ryan Blackgoat, he responded to a call at 325 Klagetoh St. in which a young girl said she “was being choked by her uncle and her mother was intoxicated.” He arrived to a scene with three young girls crying. The mother, Gwendolyn Belone, 38, claimed that her daughter attacked her as the reason for uncle Darin Deschiney’s intervention. Belone was arrested for four counts of child abandonment and Deschiney, 35, for abuse of a child.

 

PINKY STABBING

Gallup, 10/20

A young woman called police to report that her brother Colbryn Bennette, 37, had charged at her with a kitchen knife and stabbed her right pinky as she tried to close her bedroom door. According to the police report, the victim said Bennette had been drinking all day when an argument ensued.  He was arrested for aggravated battery.

 

DRINK AWAY FROM THE KIDS, PART II

Gallup, 10/21

A hardworking mom came home to a drunk boyfriend babysitting their two kids. According to GPD Officer Charles Steele’s report, the woman asked her boyfriend Preston Cleveland to leave her motel room. Instead, he pulled out a razor blade, grabbed her by the hair, and began slashing her shirt. Fortunately, she wasn’t injured. Cleveland, 21, was charged with aggravated battery and abuse of a child for his drunken baby sitting services.

BARBED-WIRE THIEF

Vanderwagen, 10/20

For a period of two months, a man who hails from Vanderwagen, said his west boundary barbed-wire fence, has slowly disappeared. He noticed this when horses ventured onto his 150-acre property. There are no suspects at this time. The man estimates the value of his missing fencing to be about $500.

CELLPHONE ATTACK?

Gamerco, 10/17

Deputy Roberta Jaramillo was dispatched to 203 Ray in Gamerco and according to her report, arrived at bloody scene. Samira Shaffar allegedly hit her husband with her cellphone. But, the path of blood throughout the home, and the laceration on his head told a different story – he was likely hit with a bottle. Shaffar, 42, was arrested for aggravated battery on a family member.
