Myron Footracer, 35, of Gallup, resigned from his position with the Milan Police Department Aug. 6 after a domestic incident at his home.

Gallup Patrolman Thomas House was dispatched to a house on Zecca Drive in reference to a police request Aug. 4.

When House arrived on-scene, he made contact with a male subject in the back room of the residence who was yelling at a female with a small infant. House told the male to go to the living room where they could talk.

Footracer he had gotten into an argument with his wife over marriage issues and it turned physical.

According to the police report, Footracer said his wife had been nagging him about their marriage problems and had had enough. He said she began kicking him in the chest, and he had twisted her ankle after he grabbed her foot. The two subjects started to throw various objects at each other when the wife’s family, who lived across the street, entered the house.

When House spoke with Footracer’s wife, she told him he had tried to take their child from her to wash him in the shower. When she refused to hand the child over, Footracer became hostile and looked ready to strike. She tried to get away, but then she said Footracer twisted her ankle. She said he continued to yell at her, but she could not make out what he was saying.

Footracer’s wife said this was when her family entered the house and she began telling her mother what had happened. Footracer continued to shout that what his wife was saying wasn’t true, and continually interrupted her accounts.

Based on the accounts given, House determined Footracer to be the primary aggressor. He was placed under arrest for charges of battery against a household member and abuse of a child, and was transported to the county jail for booking.
