Two water points to the east and west of Gallup have been created to provide access to the Navajo Nation during the lock down of the city.

A 1,200 gallon tanker with potable water will be located at both the Gallup Port of Entry and Red Rock State Park.

At the Gallup Port of Entry, The National Guard has set up a 1,200-gallon tanker with potable water and an additional 6,500-gallon tanker will arrive there from the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority. The site will operate from 8 am - 7 pm until noon May 7.

At Red Rock State Park, the National Guard has a 1,200-gallon tanker with potable water and a separate tanker with non-potable water for livestock. An additional 6,500-gallon tanker will arrive from the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority. The site will operate from 8 am - 7 pm until noon May 7.

The Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management will send bottled water to both locations.
