SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials announced 72 additional positive tests for COVID-19 April 8.

McKinley County is now listed as one of seven New Mexico counties where the New Mexico Department of Health has detected community spread.

The most recent cases are

When he arrived he saw a man leaving the store.

 

As he approached the front door, manager Anita Spencer said she had been working on stock inventory in the back when she heard the front door bell.  Then she heard the cooler door open and she headed for the front of the store.

 

When she got there she saw a man heading for the exit with two cans of beer and she called out.  She said he turned and told her to open the register and give him all the cash, and he threatened her.

The New Mexico Department of Health says the state now has a total of 686 positive tests for COVID-19.  The number of deaths remains at 12 and 133 people who tested positive for the virus have been designated as having recovered.

 

The health department lists the most recent cases as:

As towns and cities shutter all non-essential businesses and residents are urged to stay home and isolate, the staff at local hospitals prepare to both test and house, and ideally treat, patients who are stricken with the COVID-19.

Rehoboth McKinley Christian Health Care Services has closed the door to all non-emergency procedures. Visitors must be screened before they enter the premises, and vehicles can line up for a drive-thru test at one of the entrances.
