City issues notice for sidewalk repair

The City of Gallup will be working in the area of Second Street on a temporary sidewalk repair, on the east side of the street.

Repairs will take place on the stretch of Highway 602 South Second Street between Logan Avenue and Green Avenue from June 2-4.

The city asks residents to be aware, reduce speed, and obey all posted traffic signs.

City alerts residents ahead of street pavings

The City of Gallup Street Department will begin paving two streets from June 1-18. These dates are subject to change due to weather.

The streets to be paved are:

1. Churchrock Street from Vanden Bosch Parkway to the east side of the concrete bridge, north of Indian Hills Elementary School.

2. 3400 Block of Zia Drive from Tocito Trail to the edge of the concrete.

The city asks residents do not park on the street. Expect delays and seek alternate routes. PLEASE BE AWARE, REDUCE SPEED and OBEY ALL POSTED TRAFFIC SIGNS. There will be 'Road Closed' and 'Detour' signs posted.

Gallup Police looking for Frank Jones

Gallup Police are looking for a missing person. Frank Howard Jones was last seen on May 12 around 4:30 pm after being dropped off by family members at O'Reilly's on the east side of Gallup.

Jones' family members have not heard from him since.

Frank Jones has a medical condition. He is 61 years old, five-feet-eight inches and weighs 225 pounds. He has tattoos on both forearms and on the right side of his neck. He wears glasses, which are brown, and was last seen wearing a beige shirt, gray Dickie pants and brown shoes. He was described as having a faded haircut.
