Families are being invited to participate in a virtual celebration of Navajo Nation Heritage Day Nov. 26.

The event will be available for viewing from 10 am-12 pm on the Nez-Lizer Facebook page. It will include performances from Navajo artists and a special guest who will be introduced during the event.

GALLUP, N.M. — Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez and Vice President Myron Lizer joined New Mexico Congresswoman Teresa Leger Fernández (D-N.M.), City of Gallup Mayor Louie Bonaguidi, and officials with the U.S. Department of the Interior and Bureau of Reclamation for a site visit Nov. 23 for the Navajo Gallup Water Supply Project that is currently under construction and delivering much-need water resources for Navajo families in the state of New Mexico.

Gallup Police Department Narcotics Agents, Detectives and the Emergency Response Team served a search warrant at 715 West Logan Ave. in Gallup Oct. 21.

The search warrant was related to an investigation into the alleged trafficking of heroin, methamphetamine and oxycontin pills.

Juan O. Arellanes, 36, of Gallup, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, Fentanyl and Codeine a fourth-degree felony for both drugs.

Arellanes was booked into the McKinley County Adult Detention Center.

Gallup Police Department Narcotics Agents served a search warrant at Desert Skies Motel room #12 in Gallup Nov. 18.

The search warrant was related to an investigation into the alleged trafficking of Heroin. Paul Acevedo, 60, of Gallup, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, heroin and methamphetamine, a fourth-degree felony for both drugs.

Alexa Gomez 30, of Gallup, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance a narcotic drug, a fourth-degree felony and concealing identity, a misdemeanor.

Acevedo and Gomez were booked into the McKinley County Adult Detention Center.
