Law enforcement seeks tips for alleged Roswell murderer, kidnapper

Law enforcement is looking to the public for tips more than a month after a Roswell man allegedly murdered his girlfriend and fled with their 3-year-old son.

An FBI reward of up to $10,000 is still active for information leading to the apprehension, arrest, and/or extradition of Jorge Ernesto Rico-Ruvira.

Rico-Ruvira, 32, is wanted for his alleged involvement in the murder of his girlfriend in Roswell on Jan. 7. He also allegedly fled with the couple’s 3-year-old son, Osciel Ernesto Rico. He was charged with first-degree murder in the Chaves County Magistrate Court, State of New Mexico, Roswell, and a state warrant was issued for his arrest on Jan. 8.

Grisly murder in Mexican Springs

A Mexican Springs woman known as “P.D.” is dead.  The skull of the 36-year-old woman who was reported missing in late January, was found by FBI agents in Mexican Springs after a woman named Stacy Yellowhorse 48, of Mexican Springs led the agent to a location where pieces of the woman’s body were scattered.

Yellowhorse and her boyfriend, Timothy Chischilly, 48, also of Mexican Springs were last seen with P. D. in Gallup Jan. 22, according to court records.

Police say they interviewed a woman who said she was with Chischilly, Yellowhorse, and the victim on that date. She said they were in Gallup and got into a physical altercation. She said she was beaten up during the fight and...

Gallup Police Officer Patrick Largo said he was parked on Coal Avenue when he noticed a red Buick go past him at a high rate of speed.

He conducted a traffic stop and came in contact with the driver - Edna Jean Smith, 42, of Gallup, who said she knew she was being stopped for braking too fast, Largo explained she was speeding. Largo said she slurred her speech when she spoke and showed other signs of being intoxicated.

Smith admitted to drinking liquor an hour before driving. Largo also reported finding a number of open miniature bottles of liquor, as well as beer cans in the vehicle.

TRUCK STOP SHOPLIFTER

Gallup, Feb. 7

A Vanderwagen man is facing aggravated assault and shoplifting charges after he attempted to steal fireworks and beer from Love’s Travel Center and the Navajo Travel Center on West Highway 66.

Gallup police were called to Love’s about 2:49 am on Feb. 7. When they got there, they found Stewart Gishie, 42, of Vanderwagen, being detained by business personnel.

James Renden, the manager of the nearby Navajo Travel Center, said he saw Gishie take $150 worth of fireworks from his store. He followed him outside to Gishie’s car whereupon Gishie hit him on his torso with his car door in an attempt to escape.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for the death of James Naswood, of Red Rock, N.M.On Nov. 8, 2019, at approximately 3:30 pm, Naswood was found deceased in the front passenger seat of a red Pontiac Grand Am on New Mexico Highway 602 between mile markers 19 and 20 in Red Rock, on the Navajo Nation.Naswood, 48, was last seen at approximately 11 am on Nov. 7, 2019.The cause of death is not being released at this time.The FBI is investigating with the Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety.Anyone with information about this death is asked to call the Albuquerque FBI Field Office...
