Gallup Police Department asks for the public’s help in locating Jonathan Ray Joe.


Joe, 28, is believed to be in the Gallup area. He is estimated to be about 5’10” tall and weigh 220 pounds. There is no information on where he was last seen or wearing, nor where he may have headed.


He is wanted for questioning in a crime that occurred on the east side of Gallup.

Navajo man charged in Indian Country stabbing

ALBUQUERQUE. – Jamieson C. Mason, 28, of Upper Fruitland, N.M., and an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, waived his preliminary hearing in federal court Oct. 20 on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and assault resulting in serious bodily injury. Mason will remain in custody pending trial.

According to a criminal complaint, on Oct. 8, Mason allegedly was present at a residence for a birthday party, remaining mostly outside, while others were inside preparing food. Mason allegedly entered the residence, approached the victim, who was sitting on a couch, pushed her torso forward and stabbed her in the back multiple times. Mason then reportedly fled.

CIBOLA COUNTY, N.M. - A call to assist led New Mexico State Police officers into an extended chase on I-40 for a number of state police officers.

New Mexico State Police responded to assist the Valencia County Sheriff’s Office with a vehicle pursuit on State Road 6, west of Los Lunas, N.M. at about 10:50 am on Oct. 17.

Valencia County Sheriff’s deputies pursued the vehicle on State Road 6 to I-40.  The vehicle merged onto I-40 and proceeded to travel westbound.

A New Mexico State Police officer located the vehicle matching the description of the vehicle that was pursued by the Valencia County Sheriff’s Office near the off ramp at milepost 108.

WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. - A call for service led to a search and eventual shooting on the Navajo Nation.

The Navajo Police Department - Window Rock District was dispatched to a disturbance call within the Hunters Point community south of St. Michaels, Ariz. about 6:46 pm on Oct. 17.

Upon their arrival, the suspect was reported to have left the residence possibly armed with a handgun and rifle. While conducting a search of the area, an officer made contact with the suspect, who pointed a rifle at the officer. In response to the threat, the officer discharged several rounds at the suspect, who then fled the area.
