Multiple officers converged in Gamerco late in the evening to assist with two people believed to be intoxicated.
McKinley County Sheriff’s Deputy Dewayne Holder was dispatched to the intersection of South Chino Loop and Carbon Coal Road after being told Laguna Police Officer Shawn Peterson was going to pull a suspected drunk driver over.
Holder arrived at the scene and met with Peterson, who had pulled over a white Dodge Caravan. He was standing with the driver, Thomas F. Begay, 54, of Tohatchi. Holder noted Begay had bloodshot eyes and had the smell of alcohol on his breath.

McKinley County Sheriff’s Deputy Frank Villa Jr. was stationed in the median of Highway 602 south of Aztec Avenue when he was approached by several vehicles who advised him a red Dodge Ram was parked in the roadway of Munoz Overpass with a driver who appeared unconscious.
Villa traveled to the scene and found the vehicle facing southbound with a Native American male asleep in the driver’s seat. He saw the vehicle was still running and was not in park. As he reached through the driver’s window to unlock the door, Villa smelled liquor coming from inside the vehicle.

AG Balderas announces maximum prison sentence for child molester
ALBUQUERQUE— Attorney General Hector Balderas announced Nov. 12 that Francisco Saucedo was sentenced to 30 years in prison by Thirteenth Judicial District Court Judge Christopher Pérez, for the manufacture, distribution and possession of child exploitation materials, as well as for committing sexual acts and voyeurism against his granddaughter in 2017.
“We must protect our children from sexual predators,” Attorney General Balderas said. “I applaud this young survivor and her family for having the fortitude to disclose Saucedo’s crimes and see these disclosures through to convictions.”

WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. – The Navajo Nation finalized two public health emergency orders and one executive order on Nov. 13 that will go into effect on Nov. 16 for a three-week period. The new measures reinstate a stay-at-home lockdown order for the entire Nation, close Executive Branch government offices with the exception of essential employees, call for all schools on the Navajo Nation to close temporarily, and declares “red status” for all businesses requiring new safety measures as COVID-19 cases continue to rise rapidly.
